Punjab gives additional charge to officers as 6 DCs go for training

With six deputy commissioners (DCs) proceeding on three-week mid-career training programme at Mussoorie, beginning June 1, the Punjab government on Thursday gave additional charge of their offices to other IAS officers.

With six deputy commissioners (DCs) proceeding on three-week mid-career training programme at Mussoorie, beginning June 1, the Punjab government on Thursday gave additional charge of their offices to other IAS officers.

The charge of Patiala DC Varun Roojam has been given to Patiala municipal corporation commissioner Indu Malhotra; Bathinda ADC (D) Varinder Kumar Sharma will hold the charge of Bathinda DC Basant Garg; while Rupnagar DC Tanu Kashyap's charge has been given to SAS Nagar DC Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu.

Similarly, the charge of Amritsar DC Ravi Bhagat has been entrusted to Amritsar MC commissioner Pardeep Kumar; Kapurthala DC Daljit Singh Mangat's charge will be held by Jalandhar DC Kamal Kishor Yadav and the charge of Ferozepur DC Devinder Pal Singh Kharbanda has been entrusted to Fazilka DC Ravinder Singh, according to a government spokesperson.

9 PCS officers transferred

Meanwhile, the government handed over additional charge of different departments to an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer and transferred nine Punjab Civil Service (PCS) officers with immediate effect.

Among the PCS officers transferred are Vijay Kumar Syal, who has been posted as sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Dharkalan; and Harjeet Singh Sandhu who will hold the post of the SDM Kotkapura and the district transport officer (DTO) Faridkot.

Isha Singal will be SDM (Sangrur); Rajesh Dhiman DTO (Sangrur); Navreet Kaur Sekhon, SDM (Lehragaga and Moonak); Jashanpreet Kaur Gill, SDM (Dhuri); Nitish Singla, SDM (Jaitu); Charumita, SDM (Faridkot), and Kala Ram Kansal has been posted as assistant commissioner (general/grievances), Sangrur.
