Punjab govt to bear all costs for safe return of men from Iraq

Besides announcing that it would bear all expenses for return of Punjabis stranded in Iraq, the state government also decided to reimburse expenses incurred by their families on making phone calls to enquire about their well-being. A spokesperson of the chief minister’s office said that knowing well that frequent international calls being made by the panic-stricken family members of trapped persons was a costly affair, chief minister Parkash Singh Badal decided that the state government would repay this expenditure.

The CM has also decided that the state government would bear the entire expenditure of bringing the trapped persons back to their home safely. He had also conveyed this to the union external affairs ministry. Badal has already directed all deputy commissioners to extend all possible help and cooperation to the tormented families.
