The Punjab government will soon launch a concerted drive to clear encroachments on forest land after it was recently pulled up by the Punjab and Haryana high court over the issue.

"In the wake of the recent order of the court, the department will soon launch a drive to clear unauthorized occupation on the land of the forest department," an official spokesman said here on Friday.
All district forest officers have been given directions to act against encroachers and file a report in this regard within a week, he said.
