The beneficiaries will get their quota of wheat and pulses for December and January next month.

Punjab food secretary Dharamjeet Singh Grewal said the work of identifying the eligible beneficiaries under the new atta-dal scheme in the state was in full swing.

He said the beneficiaries enrolled under the new scheme would be issued blue cards to avail 'atta' and 'dal' at subsidised rates.

The state government had already announced to double the eligible beneficiaries under its flagship scheme from existing 15 lakh to 30 lakh.

Eligible beneficiaries will get wheat at Rs 1 per kg and pulses at Rs 20 per kg.
