SK Nayar, president of Citizen's Welfare Association, Panchkula and Indian Citizen's Forum has submitted a memorandum to the advisor to administrator, UT urging him to protect the rights of wards of the residents of tricity.

Talking to HT, he said that education is the only way to prosperity and thus restrictions on education from schools anywhere on the globe is not justified.

"It is good that UT education department want to implement RTE guidelines completely in the schools and thus in order to restrict the enrolment in the city schools, they have come up with this arrangement. At the same time, it seems that department is getting harsh on the students in the neighbouring cities which is not fair at all," Nayar said.

The education department recently came up with the respective new arrangement. According to the education officials, their focus is to serve the interest of the students in the city at priority which adhere to the guidelines provided by RTE.
