Ricela group firm gets national award

Dhuri-based AP Organics, a Ricela group company, has been conferred the First National Award-2012 for innovation in medium enterprise category by the union ministry of MSME. AR Sharma, chairman of Ricela group, received the award from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the national awards function held recently at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

The innovation relates to development of cooking oil from rice bran, which provides optimum dosage of oryzanol -- a cholesterol-lowering antioxidant, within the recommended level of daily oil intake, claims Sharma.
