Three people died on the spot and 13 were injured when an allegedly overloaded utility vehicle (Bolero Camper) rolled down a gorge near Kufri in Shimla district on Sunday evening. The injured, including the driver, were rushed to Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) in Shimla; four were reported to be in critical condition. According to the police, the SUV was carrying people on their way back from a marriage in Jahu to Piyali when it fell into a gorge as the driver failed to negotiate a curve.

Investigation officer (IO) Kama Nain said the victims could not be identified immediately.

Two persons - driver Manoj, and Parvesh -- died in an accident near Rampur, while a bike-borne man identified as Sardar Singh got seriously injured in another crash near Sandhasu and later died at the PGIMER hospital in Chandigarh. The police report did not carry further details.
