“I resisted t he attack till I could, even though he kept stabbing me with a knife, asking for money and valuables,” said Radhika Mittal, a widow, who is under treatment at the general hospital, Sector 16.
When the robber, Sagar, attacked Radhika, there were as many as eight people in the three-storyed house.
Mother of two sons aged 9 and 11, Radhika stays on the top floor, while her in-laws stay on the first and other relatives on the ground floor.
Still in a state of shock, the victim's father-in-law MR Mittal, a businessman, said, “My daughter-in-law comes down to cook food at around 1pm daily. On Wednesday, just before 12.45 pm, we heard her screams."
Mittal said profusely-bleeding Radhika came down shouting for help and in the meantime, the accused managed to escape out of the house. Mittal called up the police. In the meantime, a youngster chased the accused on a motorcycle and nabbed him in the next lane.
Radhika's mother-in-law Vijay said, “She told us he asked for money and also threatened to kidnap the children who were away to school. He attacked the house after a lot of planning." Radhika suffered injuries in the stomach, hands, shoulder and back.

{{/usCountry}}“We had never imagined that this could ever happen. We never used to keep the main door locked during the day. But this incident has made us worried,” she added.
Radhika's husband had committed suicide about four years back as he was suffering from depression.
