A district administration team led by Mandi deputy commissioner Sandeep Kadam visited the flood-hit areas in Dharmpur on Monday and distributed `25,000 as ex-gratia to each affected family. The team also issued directions to the local administration to prepare a detailed report of the losses incurred due to the floods.
The administration also distributed utensils, rations, LGP cylinders, stoves and clothes to affected families in Sakrendhar, Tanehar, Lungram, Badana, Narayangarhon, Dabrot, Arli Paryal and Chuddu segments and to families in a few areas in Balh segment.
Kadam said necessary guidelines had been issued to the health and veterinary departments to provide medical aid to injured people and cattle, He said he had asked the local administration to arrange for spots to bury dead animals to avoid the spreading of some kind of epidemic in future.
The deputy commissioner said work on restoration of drinking water supply and electricity supply, and road repair work were being carried out.

Meanwhile, former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal expressed sympathy over the devastation caused by floods in Dharmpur. He alleged that the government was biased in distributing ex-gratia amount to flood-hit areas.
Dhumal said, "The government should not be biased while providing help to people when they are facing a tough time. It is sad that the administration inspected the loss from places with road connectivity. It did not visit the actual sites of devastation."
He also accused the administration of sidelining Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters deliberately.
He said the BJP was ready to cooperate with the state government if it was genuinely interested in carrying out relief and rescue measures. He said he would ask the central government to provide relief if the state government prepared accurate details of the loss of lives and property.

Dhumal, along with local MLA and former transport minister Mahender Singh Thakur, visited far-flung areas such as Sajaupipalu and Tihara and urged party workers to provide assistance to affected families.
