Rs 28,000, jeep looted near IG office in Rohtak

In a daylight robbery, two unindentified persons looted a jeep and Rs 28,000 near Rohtak inspector general office on national highway at 10 am here in the wee hours of Monday.

In a daylight robbery, two unindentified persons looted a jeep and Rs 28,000 near inspector general office on national highway at 10 am here in the wee hours of Monday.

Police have registered a case under 392, 397 Sections of Indian Penal Code against three unidentified persons.

As per the details, Mahender Singh, a merchant by profession, was coming back with two buffaloes in his jeep on Monday morning. When he reached near the said spot, two unidentified indicated him to stop and when he stopped, the assailants brandished gun at him, and allegedly snatched Rs 28,000 from his pocket.

While the third man, accompanying them, came out and threw chilly powder into the eyes of victim, and sped away with vehicle, buffaloes and cash.

When the chilly powder started irritating him, he fell on the ground and was taken to a hospital by a milkman from a nearby village, who came to sell milk to the city at 4 am.
