RTAs secretaries asked to challan vehicles without speed governor

The secretaries of various Road transport Authorities (RTAs) were on Thursday asked to launch a vigorous campaign to challan the transport vehicles found without a speed governor or with a tampered one.

The secretaries of various Road transport Authorities (RTAs) were on Thursday asked to launch a vigorous campaign to challan the transport vehicles found without a speed governor or with a tampered one.

The secretaries were urged at a seminar organised by Haryana Transport department regarding implementation of speed governors' here.

Speaking on the occasion, transport commissioner Amit Jha said fixing of speed governors in all the transport vehicles was mandatory in Haryana. A number of steps had been taken for successful implementation of the programme.

However, there were reports that the vehicle operators were resorting to tampering with the speed governors after their installation, he added.

He said the purpose of the seminar was to sensitise all the stake holders about the issue and to arrive at certain conclusions with regard to making the speed governors tamper proof.

Presentations were made by ICAT general manager U K Bhatt, Arvind Kumar, R&D Head of Rosemarta Autotech Pvt Ltd, S K Ruhil, JSTC (Technical) covering various issues.
