A two-day training programme is being organised by the Punjab Right To Service (RTS) Commission to train officials associated with the implementation of the RTS Act, 2011. These officials are being sensitised about the functioning of the new online monitoring software, which automatically gives indication regarding the status of services being provided by the departments under the Act.
A website (www.prscpunjab.gov.in) regarding the online monitoring of services being delivered under the RTS Act in Punjab is being launched.
Addressing mediapersons on the first day of the programme on Tuesday, Dalbir Singh Verka, commissioner, RTS Commission, said a new software under the name and style of the right to service information system (RTSIS) had been got developed from the National Informatics Centre.
"With the use of this software, the report of services delivered will be generated and the real-time pendency in the delivery of services related to the applications received under the Act will be tracked online," said Verka, adding that the status of the appeals at first and second levels could also be monitored.
He explained that the services were being delivered through different delivery points suwidha centres, saanjh kendras, fard kendras and other offices of 18 departments by adopting the manual procedure. At present, there is no online mechanism available to monitor the status of applications received at these centres and other offices.
