Two persons were killed and another was injured after a Mahindra Bolero vehicle plunged into the SYL Canal near Makauri village, about 10km from Rupnagar on Friday night.
According to information, a man named Ravi Kumar and his relative Rakesh Kumar of Gobindgarh and Shanker of Ghanauli village had gone to Makauri Khurd village for some work.

While returning, the driver lost control over the vehicle, which plunged into the non-operational SYL Canal. Since water was standing in the canal, the vehicle drowned in it, leaving Ravi and Rakesh dead, while Shanker sustained injuries.
