Pakistani prisoner Sanaullah Ranjay, who is undergoing treatment at the PGI here after being attacked by a fellow inmate in the Jammu jail, suffered a kidney failure on Wednesday. PGI officials said his condition had further deteriorated.

A medical bulletin issued by the PGI on Wednesday evening said Sanaullah was not passing urine and had been put on dialysis. He has also developed hypothermia (low temperature). Doctors are administering him medicines in high doses to keep his blood pressure under control.

Sanaullah's brother-in-law Mohammad Shahzad and nephew Mohammad Asif visited the advanced trauma centre at the PGI to enquire about his condition.
