School teachers seek promotions, submit charter of demands to DPI

The Joint Action Committee of UT Teachers met DPI (s) Kamlesh Kumar Bhadoo to submit a charter of demands, including promotion of teachers, filling of vacant posts, early sanction of childcare leave, provision of short leave, introduction of board examination at Class 5 and 8 levels and transfer policies for teachers.

Bhadooo assured the delegation that the pending promotions of JBT to master cadres as well as other cate gories would be released soon.

He also assured them that the department would simultaneously begin the process to fill up vacancies.

He said that childcare leave cases will be decided on merit. The dele gation stated that they were satisfied with the discussion and hope that po sitive changes would b e effected soon.
