In the morning session, of the 22,338 candidates who were supposed to appear for 133 budgeted posts of clerks, 16,580 sat in the test. In the evening session, out of 1,539 candidates who were supposed to appear for 32 self-financing posts of clerks, only 1,364 appeared in the test.

A candidate, Sunil Sharma, said they had applied three years back and now the university has decided to hold the test again. Many candidates felt that it was futile to appear in the test as selections are to be made while keeping the assembly elections in mind, he added.

The test was conducted at 70 centres for budgeted posts in the morning session and at five centres for self-financing posts in the afternoon session on the KU campus and educational institutions near Kurukshetra.

KU vice-chancellor Lt Gen DDS Sandhu (retd) said, "The test was conducted in a smooth manner and no untoward incident was reported from any centre. Sandhu visited some of the centres on the campus and nearby institution to check the conduct of the exam.
