The police on Sunday lodged an FIR against the warden of the home under Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code after rape charges were levelled by the victim's father.

The matter came to light when the Delhi-based victim narrated his tale of woes to his family when he went home for his summer vacation. The accused warden has been identified as Sanjay, a 24-year-old resident of Rohtak.

The father of the victim, Navratan Sharma, filed his complaint at 1pm on Sunday at Rohtak Civil Lines police station. The station house officer, Kuldeep Singh said that after the complaint from the victim's family, the police had started an investigation and that the warden had been taken into custody.

After revelations of torture and sexual harassment at Apna Ghar shelter home, the incident at Shravan shelter home will lead to more controversies as the home is run by the Red Cross Society and the chairman of the home is the district commissioner. The district collector and the superintendent of police could not be contacted.
