The Punjab government has constituted special sessions courts in each district for the trial of offences under the National Investigation Agency Act, 2008.

Stating this here, an official spokesperson of the home affairs and justice department of the Punjab government said the courts of the sessions judge and the first additional sessions judge had been constituted with the concurrence of the Punjab and Haryana high court.

He said these courts, constituted in each district, heard the trials of such offences as are specified under the schedule of the National Investigation Agency Act (Central Act No 34 of 2008). These courts would hear only those cases which fall under their respective jurisdiction.
