Sukhbir welcomes BJP's call on Modi
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president and Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Friday welcomed the BJP's announcement of Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi as its prime ministerial candidate.

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president and Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Friday welcomed the BJP's announcement of Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi as its prime ministerial candidate.
Sukhbir, in a statement here, said the BJP had made a right decision and that the SAD welcomed this development whole-heartedly.
The SAD president also congratulated Modi, saying that the people of the country were eager to topple the "directionless Congress-led UPA government".
He assured the Gujarat CM that the SAD was steadfast in its support to his candidature.
