Seeking police protection for the congregations of the dera and of all other faiths, Tandon, in a statement here, said, "It is also required that the state government and the SGPC authorities should find out a permanent solution to this tangle."

"It is very shocking that after a lapse of some months, a radical Sikh organisation started a clash at Dhudike, where a religious congregation for having 'nam charcha' by Dera Sacha Sauda was to take place," he said.

"Had the police force not reached there, the situation so created by such radical elements would have taken a very dangerous turn. It is absolutely wrong that any person or organisation may be bent upon to prevent a religious congregation of some other faith," he said.
