"We will soon urge the Centre to release money for such projects so as to give new impetus to the tourism industry in the state," the minister said in a press statement after presiding over a meeting with senior officers.

It was decided during the meeting that the Centre would be requested to release funds for a museum project at Ram Bagh, Amritsar, and the Shaheed Bhagat Singh museum at the martyr's native village Khatkar Kalan, Nawanshahr.

The union minister would also be requested to clear the proposal for setting up a Food Craft Institute of India at Mithran in Kapurthala, besides an institute for culture promotion at Boothgarh in Mohali district, and funds for setting up a Guru Ravidass memorial at Khuralgarh in Hoshiarpur.
