The officials are Harbhajan Singh, principal, Government Senior Secondary School in Samrala, Vinod Kumar Rawal and director public instructions Bikramjit Singh. Answersheets of both subjects were collected from the school where exams were held in March 2013. Rechecking revealed glaring differences, following which an enquiry was marked into the matter and the PSEB cancelled the examination centre at the school.

PSEB chairman Tajinder Kaur Dhaliwal constituted a panel which was led by retired sessions judge OP Garg. During the inquiry, it came to fore that the trio was responsible for misappropriation and directed them to file a reply regarding the query, but they failed to respond.

While Harbhajan Singh has died, the board has written to director public instructions (DPI) (secondary) for appropriate action against the two other officials.
