Training for dairy farmers on July 21

Punjab animal husbandry and dairy farming minister Gulzar Singh Ranike on Thursday gave a call to dairy farmers to adopt “commercial approach” and participate in the state’s training programme in the milk products that would start at five centres from July 21.

Punjab animal husbandry and dairy farming minister Gulzar Singh Ranike on Thursday gave a call to dairy farmers to adopt “commercial approach” and participate in the state’s training programme in the milk products that would start at five centres from July 21.

The specialised training would be imparted to dairy farmers in the 18-45 year age group who are matriculate and have at least five buffaloes at their dairy farm.

The interviews for the training batches would be conducted on July 18 at five dairy centres, one each at Bija (Ludhiana), Chitamali (Rupnagar), Gill (Moga), Abul Khurana (Muktsar) and Verka (Amritsar).

Guru Angad Dev Veterinary Sciences University, Ludhiana, and Dairy Research Centre, Karnal, would be the key institutions in the training programme.
