A 30-year-old man died in a road mishap at Kharar on Thursday night. The deceased has been identified as Naurang Singh, resident of Sorahan village in Kharar.
As per information, the incident took place near Doaba College when a truck hit Naurang from the rear side. Locals blamed the ambulance service for reaching late on the spot. They also staged protest and blocked the highway at night.
The residents said they had called on emergency number 108 soon after the incident when the boy had been lying alive with injuries. The locals informed the police but the ambulance reached after the victim died on the spot.
The police rushed the victim to the civil hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.A case has been registered against an unidentified person under sections 304A (death caused by negligence) and 279 (rash driving) of the Indian Penal Code.
