According to a letter to the deputy commissioner from Huda’s estate officer-2, the agency had allotted a 1,627-squaremetre plot in Sector 39 to the Haryana state Haj committee on 99 years’ lease in August, 2011, but possession could not be handed over owing to objections from the committee.

“The land that was being given to the committee did not have a proper approach road and it would not have served the purpose given the mass congregations expected at the venue. So we had asked for another piece of land for the Haj house. The land has not been handed over to the committee, but it will be done soon as the process for it is on,” said Haryana Haj committee president Aftab Ahmad, who is also Haryana’s transport minister.

Meanwhile, Huda administrator in Gurgaon PC Meena could not be contacted for comments despite repeated attempts.
