Vet varsity scientists get Rs 1.6-cr research grant

Sushila Maan and Narender Singh Maan, scientists of Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LUVAS), have been awarded a research grant of Rs 1.62 crore under the India-UK collaboration in Farmed Animal Disease and Health (FADH) by UK and department of biotechnology, India.

Sushila Maan and Narender Singh Maan, scientists of Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LUVAS), have been awarded a research grant of Rs 1.62 crore under the India-UK collaboration in Farmed Animal Disease and Health (FADH) by UK and department of biotechnology, India.

In project, LUVAS will take a lead role with Sushila Maan as principal investigator and project coordinator from the Indian side and Narender Singh Maan as co-principal investigator. Besides LUVAS, four other institutes from India will also participate in this project, which include IVRI-Bareilly, NIVEDI-Bengaluru, Ella Foundation, Hyderabad, SVVU-Hyderabad and VBRI-Hyderabad. From the UK side Peter Mertens of The Pirbright Institute will be the UK project coordinator along with other PIs from University of Glasgow and The John Innes Centre.
