Vishal Marwah appointed observer for 4th India-England test match

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appointed Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) honorary secretary Vishal Marwah as its observer for the fourth test match between India and England to be held at Old Trafford, beginning August 7.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appointed Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) honorary secretary Vishal Marwah as its observer for the fourth test match between India and England to be held at Old Trafford, beginning August 7.

He has become the first official from the HPCA to be appointed as observer for an international match.
Marwah has a long association with cricket in various capacities for the past three decades. He represented Himachal in different tournaments in the various age groups and also represented Himachal Pradesh University in the north zone team during the 1980s.

He has held various administrative posts in the Shimla district cricket association since 1992 and was elevated to the state cricket association as an executive member in 2002, as press secretary in 2005 and treasurer in 2007.

"It's a great moment for us that one of our administrators from this small hill state has been chosen for a prestigious assignment,” said HPCA president Anurag Thakur.
