Following candlelight marches in favour of AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal in Ludhiana, the Supreme Court lawyer and AAP’s Lok Sabha candidate from Ludhiana Harvinder Singh Phoolka has revealed the party’s plan to challenge Kejriwal’s judicial custody in a defamation case.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday, Phoolka said he was one of the four members of the special committee formed by AAP to handle the Kejriwal defamation case, adding, “We will file a petition in the Delhi high court on Monday against the judicial custody. There were no warrants issued by the court, neither was there any arrest but only summons was given following which Kejriwal appeared before the court. Under these conditions it is not necessary to take bail or furnish a bail bond, thus he did not break any law,” Phoolka said.
