Special teachers’ union hunger strike against the Punjab government entered the tenth day, with protestors burning the effigy of the Punjab deputy chief minister on Tuesday.

The protesters were demanding a revision of their payscale and paid winter and summer leaves. Special teachers’ union president Varinder Vohra said that they would fast unto death from June 19.
