Veteran Hindi filmmaker Yash Chopra died of multi-organ failure on Sunday, a week after he was admitted to the Lilavati hospital with dengue. The funeral will take place today in Mumbai.

Chopra, who celebrated his 80th birthday on September 27, changed the face of romance in Hindi cinema to become a brand in Bollywood, with hits such as Kabhie Kabhie, Silsila, Chandni and Dil to Pagal Hai in his five-decade long illustrious career.
Born on September 27, 1932 in Lahore, Chopra also thrilled fans with action dramas such a Trishul and Deewar, which established Amitabh Bachchan as the “angry young man”.
