In the film and TV industry, artists are required to be on their toes constantly. I have worked extensively as an assistant director, and I feel the real learning starts once the camera rolls. Breaking down the shots and maintaining continuity is where an assistant learns the most. You may get your first entry through a contact, but your hard work and talent take you further. A unit consists of hundreds of people from the industry itself, but the hardworking ones will eventually get noticed. Then, opportunities are abundant. I completed my post-graduation in mass communication from Panjab University and then entered the industry; that helped me in gaining some maturity in thought.
