Manhas was addressing a ‘Jan Sammelan’ at Durga Nagar in Ban Talab area. He said that an increasing number of educated youth were leaving their birthplaces and going to cities like Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, etc. to find jobs.

He said that this was due to lack of employment and the Jammu province was the worst affected.

Manhas blamed the government for not having a more effective youth policy. “The coalition claimed to bring about a revolution with the new recruitment policy which offers a meagre salary to the state’s highly educated youth,” he added.

Manhas said the state had the potential but not the will to create jobs.
