26 arrested in Budhwar peth’s lottery centre raid over complaints of illegal activity

The crime branch of the Pune police raided a lottery centre in Budhwar peth on Friday evening, arresting 26 people over complaints of illegal activity at the lottery centre.

The police seized lottery material worth ₹6.47 lakh, including mobile and gambling assets, from the centre. Bacchan Singh, deputy commissioner of police (DCP), crime said that the police carried out the raid, post receiving complaints regarding illegal activities that were underway at the centre.

A complaint against the 26 people arrested has been registered by the crime branch under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Gambling Act.
