The Bengaluru traffic police along with the Namma Metro management opened pre-fixed auto counters at Cubbon Park, MG Road metro stations on Wednesday. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) also informed that they will open such pre-fixed auto counters in three other metro stations as well.

In an announcement, BMRCL stated, “Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) in coordination with Bangalore Traffic Police (BTP), today opened two prefixed Auto Rickshaw counters at MG Road & Cubbon Park Metro Stations. Further, it is planned to open such counters at the entry/exit gates at 3 other Metro stations i.e. Banashankari, Baiyappanahalli and Nagasandra.”
However, BMRCL also announced that the staff for these counters will be the employees of the metro body and the police department, based on their shift timings. The move is expected to provide last mile connectivity for metro users without any hassle. “The required manpower to maintain the counters are on a sharing basis between BMRCL and BTP. The commuter has to inform the destination at the counter and collect the travel slip, containing the driver's name, mobile number, auto rickshaw registration number, destination address, mobile number of the commuter and amount to be paid at the end of the journey," read the statement further. Rs. 2 will be charged as service fee by the pre-fixed counter.
