Chandigarh: ,Punjab Police have unveiled a comprehensive multi-layered security plan to ensure the safety and convenience of devotees during the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Teg Bahadur, scheduled at Anandpur Sahib from November 23 to 25.
Special DGP, law and order, Arpit Shukla said the grand events are expected to draw lakhs of devotees from across India and abroad. Around 10,000 police personnel will be deployed under the supervision of an ADGP-rank nodal Officer, supported by seven IGs/DIGs, 22 commandants, 45 SPs, and 94 DSPs.
The security setup will integrate advanced technology, including a high-tech control room with over 300 AI-enabled CCTV cameras with facial recognition, 10 PTZ cameras, and 25 ANPR cameras at key entry and exit points. Additionally, seven drone teams will provide continuous aerial surveillance.
Shukla said mounted police patrolling, smart barricades, and facial recognition integration with local crime data will enhance deterrence and ensure peace during the celebrations.
