Baljit Kaur, 30, who harboured Amritpal Singh and his accomplice Papalpreet Singh, was produced in Nakodar court on Friday, which sent her to three-day police remand.
Kaur was arrested on Thursday after it came to the fore that she had harboured the fugitive Khalistani preacher and his aide, both wanted accused in multiple cases, for two days at her house in Shahbad in the Kurukshetra district of Haryana on March 19 and 20.
Police officials claim that after escaping from Punjab, both Amritpal and Papalpreet managed to reach Baljit’s house.
Police have already confirmed that Baljit and Papalpreet were known to each other and are in regular contact for the past two years. “We are going to extract information on how the accused managed to contact her after dodging Punjab Police and how they managed to reach her without being noticed. Her interrogation will be key to figuring out the movement of Amritpal and his aide,” a police official said.
“In the preliminary investigation, she has revealed that both the accused reached her place at around 8:30 pm on March 19 on a white scooter and left the next day at around 1:30 pm,” a police official said.
The police added that she told the cops that Papalpreet had arranged scooter from his relative in Patiala.

{{/usCountry}}“Before leaving, they collected some clothes from her brother and an umbrella. The duo also made a few calls before leaving for the next location,” an official said.
