BKU faction to launch stir in Punjab for release of Sikh prisoners
BKU (Ekta - Ugrahan), a left leaning farm organisation, has decided to launch a stir for the release of Sikh and other prisoners, who have completed their sentence, from jail.

The union has also uploaded a post in this regard on its official Facebook page. The post reads, “Let’s take out the demand for the release of the prisoners of the Khalistani movement of Punjab, who have served their sentences, from the narrow circle, and raise it at the national level along with other such prisoners of other religions.”
BKU has called a convention at Bathinda on Tuesday to discuss the issue. They have also given a call of state-wide protest at district headquarters on February 13.
Sukhdev Singh Kokri Kalan, general secretary of organisation, said large number of prisoners are lodged in the jails of country despite serving their sentence, who must be released.
Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Monday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has betrayed the community on the commitment given to the Sikh community to free all Bandi Singhs on the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji in 2019.
