6kg heroin found hidden in battery along border in Gurdaspur

BSF recovers 6kg of heroin hidden in a battery near the border in Gurdaspur, and 2.6kg of heroin dropped by a drone in Amritsar.

The Border Security Force (BSF) recovered 6kg of heroin concealed in a battery near the Zero Line at Dostpur village of Gurdaspur district, a BSF spokesperson said on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip-off, the BSF conducted a search and recovered the narcotics concealed in a battery between the Zero Line and the border fence near Dostpur late on Tuesday.

“Six packets of heroin weighing a total of 6.3kg and a packet containing 70g of suspected opium were found in the 12-volt battery ahead of the border fencing,” the spokesperson said.

2.6 kg heroin dropped by drone seized in Amritsar

The troops of border security force (BSF) recovered 2.6kg heroin dropped by a drone near Ranian village of Amritsar.

A BSF spokesperson said, “In the evening hours on Wednesday, on specific information regarding presence of consignment of contraband items dropped by drone, a search operation was launched by BSF on the outskirts of Ranian village.”

He said, “During the search at about 6.10 PM, the troops recovered a red-coloured polythene, containing five plastic bottles filled with narcotics, suspected to be heroin, attached with a nylon hook, in a farming field of Ranian.”
