BSF shoots Pak intruder dead in Gurdaspur
According to information, BSF men deployed along the border noticed a man approaching the zero line from the Pakistan side and crossing into Indian territory.
Amid severe cold and dense fog along the international border, personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) shot dead a Pakistani intruder while he was attempting to enter Indian territory near Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur district on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday, officials said.
According to information, BSF men deployed along the border noticed a man approaching the zero line from the Pakistan side and crossing into Indian territory. Despite being challenged and warned, the intruder continued to advance, following which the troops opened fire and neutralised him.
The personnel involved belonged to the BSF’s 113th Battalion and were deployed near the border outpost Ghanye Ke. Soon after the incident, senior BSF officials and local police reached the spot. Further investigation is underway.
