Chandigarh: Head constable suspended after hitting two Activas in Manimajra

A day after police sought a report after head constable Jaipal had allegedly hit two scooterists in Manimajra on Thursday night in his personal Hyundai Venue car, the police have now suspended the official and registered an FIR in the case.

Jaipal was posted with the enforcement wing of Chandigarh municipal corporation and was transferred back to police lines before his suspension. His medical report also confirmed he was drunk at the time of the incident.

Police registered a case against him under Sections 125(A) (act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 281 (rash or negligent driving or riding on a public way) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Manimajra police station.
