Chandigarh: Immigration firm booked for 8-lakh fraud

The UT police have booked several staffers of a Sector 17-based immigration firm for cheating an Ambala resident of 8.87 lakh.

As per police, Sunil Kumar of Sengla village in Ambala alleged that Iqbal Singh Sandhu, a resident of Chomon, village, Jalandhar, and others of Visa Capital immigration firm, assured to send his acquaintance abroad.

For the service, he paid 8.87 lakh. However, the firm neither arranged the visa nor returned the money, following which he filed a police complaint. A case under the Immigration Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered.
