The UT police have booked several staffers of a Sector 17-based immigration firm for cheating an Ambala resident of ₹8.87 lakh.

As per police, Sunil Kumar of Sengla village in Ambala alleged that Iqbal Singh Sandhu, a resident of Chomon, village, Jalandhar, and others of Visa Capital immigration firm, assured to send his acquaintance abroad.

For the service, he paid ₹8.87 lakh. However, the firm neither arranged the visa nor returned the money, following which he filed a police complaint. A case under the Immigration Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered.
