A differently abled man was burnt alive after his electric tricycle suddenly caught fire in Kanheti village of Charkhi Dadri district, police said on Saturday.

The victim, Ravindra Singh (29), was a resident of the same village of Charkhi Dadri. According to information, Ravindra had met with a road accident five years ago and the injuries left him paralysed below the waist, making him completely dependent on an e-tricycle for mobility.
For the past two years, Ravindra had regularly visited a sports ground in Birohar village of Jhajjar district, where he helped train local youth for the Indian Army. On Thursday evening, he went to offer prayers at a shrine in Kanheti village.
As he prepared to return, his e-tricycle reportedly caught fire. Due to his physical disability, Ravindra got trapped on the tricycle and was unable to get off. Local residents noticed the flames and rushed to the scene in an attempt to rescue him. However, by then he had suffered fatal burn injuries and died on the spot.
Police have initiated proceedings under accidental death based on the statement of the deceased’s cousin Rajesh Kumar.
