A Chinese drone, which sneaked into the Indian territory from the Pakistan side, was recovered in a joint search operation by Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police personnel in Bhura Kohna village falling under the Bhikhiwind sub-division of Tarn Taran on Wednesday.

The drone had crossed the international border during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
A BSF spokesperson said, “On Wednesday, around 1.09 am, our personnel intercepted movement of a suspected drone near Mehdipur village. As per the laid down drill, the troops immediately reacted to intercept the drone.”
“Further, a joint search of the area with Punjab Police was carried out on Wednesday morning. During the search, at 1.25 pm, a drone in a broken condition was recovered from the farming field adjacent to Bhura Kohna village. The recovered drone is a Hexacopter.”
It was not disclosed by the BSF if the drone was carrying any contraband or if it was a spying drone. A Punjab Police spokesperson said the recovered drone is China-made.
