Congress councillor accuses Ludhiana MC of removing hoardings at behest of AAP leaders
The Congress councillor alleged that the hoardings have been removed on the directions of AAP leaders as he has blown the lid off the unethical practices being adopted by AAP for winning upcoming municipal elections.
A day after Congress councillor of ward number 68 Baljinder Bunty installed hoardings in his ward accusing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders of creating hurdles in development works, the Municipal Corporation (MC) removed the hoardings from the area on Friday.

Bunty alleged that the hoardings have been removed on the directions of AAP leaders as he has blown the lid off the unethical practices being adopted by AAP for winning upcoming municipal elections.
Stating that he was out of the town on Friday, the councillor alleged that three work orders have been issued for the construction of roads in his ward but the AAP leaders are stopping them from commencing the work so that they can take the credit of works by inaugurating them afterwards.
“The MC had also made an unsuccessful attempt in removing the posters on Thursday and I opposed them. I was not in the city on Friday and the MC removed the posters from the area on the directions of AAP leaders. AAP is trying to defame the sitting councillors in the public by stopping the development works as the public will think that the sitting councillors are not able to get the roads constructed. They are dreaming to win the municipal elections by adopting these unethical practices, but we will continue our fight and spread awareness among masses,” said Bunty.
Meanwhile, MC officials stated that there is no political pressure on the civic body and all the illegal hoardings installed in the ward have been removed on Friday.
MC zonal commissioner Jasdev Sekhon stated that regular drives are organised in the city to remove illegal hoardings and the drive organised in ward number 68 on Friday was part of the same. No pick-and-choose policy was adopted and all illegal hoardings have been removed. As far as road construction works are concerned, these will be taken up as per the schedule prepared by the department for taking up development works in the zone.
Earlier on Thursday, AAP MLA (Ludhiana West) Gurpreet Gogi had also refuted the allegations stating that Bunty is trying to gain political mileage through these activities. He claimed that Congress had failed to perform in the past and AAP has given a push to the development works.
