Bholath MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira accused the AAP of gross misuse of public exchequer for politically motivated promotion. “This is totally unacceptable at a time when we are burdened with a colossal debt of over 3 lakh crore,” he tweeted, urging AAP national convener and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal to deposit people’s money back in the treasury.

The state government has sanctioned 2.4 crore for holding the CM-designate Bhagwant Mann’s swearing-in ceremony at Khatkar Kalan on March 16 and ferrying party leaders and people for the event. “I thought the AAP would work differently as promised but unfortunately its first action of misusing govt transport for its party rally at Amritsar today has shown they’re no different than traditional parties (sic),” posted Khaira, who was in the AAP before returning to the Congress in July last year.

Amritsar MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla also took a dig at the AAP for its roadshow. “AAP is on the path of Akali Dal,” he said in a Facebook post, sharing a web channel’s video in which drivers of the PRTC buses have been quoted as saying that the buses are being sent to Amritsar for the roadshow.
