The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) on Friday slammed the removal of hoardings that had been installed at various locations in Amritsar to inform the public about the 350th martyrdom anniversary events of Guru Teg Bahadur.

SGPC secretary Partap Singh said that the gurdwara body had placed these hoardings to make the sangat aware of the programmes being organised at Anandpur Sahib from November 23 to 29. “However, these hoardings have been taken down by the administration from several places. The action taken by the Amritsar municipal corporation and the local administration has hurt the sentiments of the Sikh sangat. The Sikh institution has celebrated many centenary events in the past, but such an incident has never occurred before,” he said.
Singh appealed to the sangat to participate wholeheartedly with their families in the events to be held at Anandpur Sahib from November 23 to 29.
