Haryana govt working to strike balance between gurukul, modern education system: Khattar

Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar said on Sunday that his government is taking steps to strike a balance between gurukuls and modern education system.

Speaking during the annual function of Gurukul Mahavidyalaya in Jhajjar, he said the state government has so far set up 138 model sanskriti schools while connecting them with Indian and modern culture.

The chief minister said efforts are being made by the government to have an appropriate blend of the ayurvedic system and allopathy.

He said 650 gyms have been established across the state and that steps are afoot to set up 1,000 more.

Khattar announced to implement solar plant scheme to solve the issues pertaining to electricity bills in gurukuls located across the state and double the annual financial assistance to the institutions.

On this occasion, Khattar announced to rename Jahanara Bagh stadium located in Jhajjar to Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati Stadium.

The Haryana chief minister also announced financial assistance of 51 lakh from his discretionary funds for the repair of gurukul building and construction of new rooms, an official spokesperson said in a press release.

CM inaugurates projects worth 78 crore in Jhajjar

Khattar on Sunday also inaugurated development projects worth 78.47 crore in Jhajjar. The CM took part in the bhoomi pujan ceremony of Swami Omanand Saraswati Museum at Jhajjar, which is being built at a cost of 100 crore.

He said this museum is dedicated to the glorious life of Swami Omanand Saraswati.

“Jhajjar will be developed as the centre of historical artifacts. This museum will be helpful for the researchers in the archaeological research work,” he added.

Khattar said with the spirit of Antyodaya scheme, the government is playing an active part in the upliftment of every section of the society.

The Haryana CM said his government will take strict action against those found using unfair means.

“We will not tolerate corruption and we have taken strict measures against those officers who were found on the wrong side of the law. The new recruitments will be conducted in a free and fair manner. If anyone indulges in corrupt activities, I urge you to send a written complaint against those officials, I will take serious action against him/her,” he added.
