The sanitation workers ended their ongoing strike on Thursday following talks with the municipal corporation administration.

The workers were sitting on protest from the past 7 days over their unmet demands.

Demands including, 10% salary hike, reinstating the services of the 41 employees who were dismissed during the strike and an agreement to grant a special leave facility of 15 days to all staff members, were taken up during the meeting.

Providing a written assurance to the employees, Mayor Surender Chauhan stated that all agreed-upon demands would be implemented in a phased manner. He expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the city’s residents and pledged to restore sanitation services to normalcy as soon as possible.
