HP govt orders release of remaining 30% gratuity, leave encashment

An official spokesperson on Saturday said that the state government has already paid 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th instalments of interim relief and 12 instalments of dearness allowance on the basic pension and basic family pension during the period and may be adjusted against the pension/ family pension arrears.

The Himachal Pradesh government has issued orders to immediately release the remaining 30% gratuity and leave encashment arrears of Class-IV employees who have retired or died in harness between January 1, 2016, to January 31, 2022, officials said on Saturday.

The orders came on the directive of chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. An official spokesperson on Saturday said that the state government has already paid 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th instalments of interim relief and 12 instalments of dearness allowance on the basic pension and basic family pension during the period and may be adjusted against the pension/ family pension arrears.

He said that concerned pension disbursing authorities have been asked to ensure that following this release, the gratuity and leave encashment arrears of such Class-IV employees should be zero.
