Noida and Dehradun-based two women duped a local trader of ₹3.7 lakh on the pretext of selling iPhone and Apple watch sets on cheap rates.

The accused have been identified as Oindrila Malik of Noida and Aditi Sharma of Inder Nagar of Dehradun.

The FIR has been registered following a complaint lodged by Sourav Anand of Block I of BRS Nagar on June 28.

According to the complainant, in a WhatsApp group, Aditi had posted that an iPhone 13 pro max 512 GB and Apple watch SE 40mm is available for ₹80,000 following which he contacted Aditi and she further referred him to her friend, Oindrila.

He later ordered 15 sets and transferred ₹7.50 lakh in the bank account of Oindrila but the accused failed to make the delivery of the same and when asked to return the amount, she returned ₹2.21 lakh and ₹1.56 in two instalments and failed to return the remaining amount.

Inspector Jagdev Singh, SHO at police station Sarabha Nagar, said that a case under Sections 420 and 120-B of the IPC and 66 (D) ofthe IT Act has been registered against the accused. The police have launched a manhunt to arrest them.
